A growth of 6.5-8% over the past several years, Lao PDR has been enjoying economic growth year over year.

Featuring an open economy with liberal economic policies, Laos is a participant in a great figure of bilateral Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), as well as the ASEAN Free Trade Agreement (AFTA) and other trade agreements with neighboring countries such as China, Vietnam and Thailand. This allows businesses in Laos to engage virtually tariff-free trade with 38 nations across the world including major global economies and developing nations. Additionally, export from Laos to the EU benefit from EU’s “Everything but Arms” scheme, which grants full duty free and quota free for all exports, except arms and armaments to the EU.
